Retiree Group Presents Sen. Jacky Rosen with a “Retiree Hero” Award

Reno, NV – Members of the Nevada Alliance for Retired Americans (NARA) proudly honored Sen. Jacky Rosen of Nevada with a “Retiree Hero” award for her 100% pro-retiree voting record in 2022. The event took place Monday at the Nevada AFL-CIO convention in Reno.

In honoring Sen. Rosen, Nevada Alliance members cited her record fighting for older Nevadans, especially her work to pass a landmark law that has already lowered drug prices and will bring them down even more in the next few years.

“Jacky Rosen’s votes prove that she looks out for all seniors, especially Nevadans, with her votes in Washington,” said Tom Bird, President of NARA. “Her dedication to preserving and expanding Social Security and Medicare will help ensure these programs will be around for current and future generations.”

Ten Senate floor votes were considered in the 2022 Alliance Voting Record. They included votes on bills and amendments to lower drug prices through the Inflation Reduction Act; protect voting rights; and pass the Postal Service Reform Act, which was critical to retirees who often rely on the postal service for at-home delivery of medications and election ballots.

“Time and again Sen. Rosen’s vote was critical to our retirement security. For example, thanks to her commitment, drug corporations are finally required to negotiate lower drug prices with Medicare. That will save beneficiaries and taxpayers $98.5 billion over ten years,” Bird added.
